Unlike homeowners and automobile policies, boat policies vary widely between different insurance companies. Companies also have very different approaches to rating and underwriting. Our boat programs are designed for a wide range of boats. We also give customers the opportunity to customize their coverages, limits and deductibles to meet their individual needs and budgets.
Our Boat Coverages:

» Boat Liability - Liability coverage pays for bodily injury or property damage for which an insured person is legally liable. The bodily injury and property damage must be caused by an accident during the policy period and arise from the ownership, maintenance or use of the insured boat. Separate limits apply for bodily injury or property damage combined that arising from one accident. In some states, bodily injury to a family member of an insured person is subject to a sub-limit of $25,000.
Optional Sub Limits - For a premium reduction, a 50% sub-limit option is       available for the liability of insured persons other than the Policyholder and       his/her household.
Tender Liability - By endorsement, we can extend liability coverage to also       apply to liability arising out of the ownership or use of a tender (dinghy).

» Medical Payments - Medical Payments is an optional coverage that covers medical and funeral expenses for bodily injury for any person injured while in, upon, being towed by, boarding or leaving the insured boat. Coverage is written on an excess basis for policyholders and their family members. It is primary for all other persons.

» Physical Damage - Physical damage coverage protects the insured boat including attached parts and equipment, and customary portable boating equipment. Coverage applies for any accidental loss that is not specifically excluded. See policy for a complete list of exclusions. Coverage is also provided for salvage charges and removal of wreck.
Valuation Option - For a covered loss to an insured boat, we will pay up to its       market value less any applicable deductible. We determine a boat's "market       value" from published boat guides, the selling prices for comparable boats or       by applying depreciation to its replacement cost. As an option, most boats       may choose an "agreed value" option instead. With this option, we will pay up       to the amount shown on the Declarations Page instead of calculating the       "market values" should approximate each other, the primary purpose of this       option is to give policyholders the peace of mind of having a firm limit       established upfront.

» Trailer Physical Damage - For boats with beams of 8'6" or less, we can also provide coverage for physical damage to a trailer used exclusively to transport the insured boat over land. This coverage is subject to a $200 deductible.

» Roadside Assistance - For boats with beams of 8'6" or less, we can also provide coverage to reimburse costs for towing or emergency expenses incurred when an insured boat is disabled while afloat in open water. Coverage is not subject to a deductible.

» Protection from an Uninsured Boat - For insurance against an uninsured boat, we offer several coverage options. The most common option provides coverage for bodily injury to a policyholder's household. An expanded option extends this coverage to all passengers. In some states, we can also add coverage for property damage caused by an uninsured boater to either of these options.

» Non Owned Boat Liability - This endorsement adds coverage for the policyholder's liability for bodily injury or property damage arising from the operation of non-owned boats that less than 26' in length with top speed potentials under 51 mph. Coverage is excess of any other available coverage.

» Personal Property - This endorsement adds physical damage coverage for personal property that is lost or damaged while aboard the insured boat including fishing and sporting equipment. Excluded items include money, jewelry, watches, furs, valuable papers, photographs, personal ledgers, records, antiques, collectibles, fine arts, china, glassware, silver, photography equipment, firearms, computer hardware, software, cassettes, tapes, compact disks and consumables. Coverage is subject to a $100 deductible.

» Tender Physical Damage - This endorsement provides coverage for physical loss or damage for eligible tenders (dinghies) that are no more than 12 feet in length and use oars or paddles for propulsion, or an outboard motor with no more than 10 horsepower. Coverage is subject to a $200 deductible.

» Pollution Liability - This endorsement covers pollution liability from an unintentional discharge of a petroleum product.
